You can select any amount of files and any type of files you want and bind them into a single standalone executable with the File Joiner application for Windows. The application basically provides a means of putting the files you want into a container. The executable is the container into which you can put files; run the executable and the files inside will automatically be launched.

To enjoy the functionality of File Joiner, you will first have to get an archive onto your machine. The archive is less than 1MB in size, so that it won’t take long to download. What you have to do next is extract the executable inside and run it – you don’t have to go through an installation process, you just have to run the executable. This, of course, means that File Joiner is portable. Stick it on a USB memory stick and take it with you.

The dark-themed, minimalistic interface is as straightforward as possible – all the buttons you need are at the bottom. There’s a button for adding the files you want to join, a button for removing files from the list, and a button for joining the files you select. There are two more buttons, a Change Icon and an About icon, but you’ll hardly use these at all.

You can select any type of file to be joined together with File Joiner. You can pick an executable, a video, an image, a document, anything you want. You can select as many files as you want to. You can pick just two, or you can pick a dozen; the choice is up to you. No matter how many files or what file types you pick, File Joiner will bind them together into an executable file. When you run the executable file created with File Joiner, the files inside will be run automatically. So if you put an audio track and an image inside the executable, the audio file will be opened with your media player and the image file with your image viewer.

Please note that File Joiner is only free to try. A registered version of File Joiner will open the files in the executable you create – the trial version will not. When you launch the executable you will be presented with a prompt that tells you that you’re using the trial version of File Joiner.

File Joiner puts a container at your disposal into which you can put anything you want. The container is an executable into which you can put any file type you want, and when the executable is run, the files inside will be launched.

Pros

File Joiner does not have to be installed. It has a minimalistic, dark-themed interface. Join together as many files as you want; pick any file type you want. The files inside the archive are run automatically.

Cons

Limited functionality in the trial version.
